Trump Creates ‘Make America Healthy Again Commission’

The Make America Healthy Again Commission will be chaired by Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. and include the heads of USDA and EPA.

February 14, 2025 – On the same day Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. was sworn in as Secretary of Health and Human Services, President Trump issued an executive order establishing a “Make America Healthy Again Commission” that will be chaired by Kennedy and include heads of other agencies, including the USDA and the EPA.

Citing high rates of chronic disease and health conditions like obesity and autism in children, Trump said the government’s policy will be “to aggressively combat the critical health challenges facing our citizens, including the rising rates of mental health disorders, obesity, diabetes, and other chronic diseases.”

The order requires the Commission to deliver an assessment of childhood chronic disease within 100 days and a strategy based on that assessment within 180 days. It includes looking at basic issues such as nutrition and physical activity but also orders an assessment of the “threat posed by” medications including popular weight-loss drugs and antidepressants, both of which Kennedy has been critical of in the past.

Trump stated the efforts would be done with methodological rigor and transparency, but it’s unclear how agencies will be able to accomplish any of the work given the scale of cuts to the workforce that are happening at the same time. Since Trump took office, health agencies have also been deleting records of scientific data and studies. The administration is also trying to cut National Institutes of Health research funding.

In a broader sense, the order had several points in common with former President Biden’s efforts to encourage cross-agency work connecting the dots between the food supply, nutrition, and health. For example, Biden’s HHS hosted the first White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health in 50 years, where it launched a national strategy that called for the integration of nutrition and health and investments in “food is medicine” initiatives.  (Link to this post.)

My wife was diagnosed of Parkinson’s Disease at age 61. She had severe calf pain, muscle pain, tremors, slurred speech, frequent falls, loss of balance, difficulty in getting up from sitting position. She was put on Senemet for 6 months and then Siferol was introduced and replaced the Senemet. During this time span she was also diagnosed with dementia. She started having hallucinations and lost touch with reality. Last year, our family doctor started her on Uine Health Centre PD-5 formula, 2 months into treatment she improved dramatically. At the end of the full treatment course, the disease is totally under control. No case of dementia, hallucination, weakness, muscle pain or tremors. My wife is strong again and has gone on with her daily activities as I share this experience. I’m surprised a lot of PWP haven’t heard of PD-5 formula. we got the treatment from their website uinehealth centre . co m

HARRINGTON, MAINE - AUGUST 08: Brandon Mott loads boxes of wild blueberries onto a truck as they harvest them from the plants in the fields of independent wild Maine blueberry grower Lynch Hill Farms on August 08, 2025 in Harrington, Maine. Independent wild Maine blueberry growers in the state are experiencing challenging times as their crops face several threats posed by climate change, from increased frequency of extreme weather events like droughts, floods, destructive frost, and warmer temperatures. Courtney Hammond, Lynch Hill Farms Manager, thinks his business is possibly in jeopardy as his crops are producing fewer marketable berries than normal. He, along with other independent growers, continues to try to adapt to the weather, but they could be reaching the point of no return, said Mr. Hammond. (Photo by Joe Raedle/Getty Images)
